Academic Pharmacy Group Committee election 2007

The Academic Pharmacy Group is a special interest group of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society open to pharmacists and non-pharmacists who are concerned with or interested in the provision of pharmaceutical education.

Full members of the group are now invited to nominate candidates for election to the group committee. Please note that candidates must be full members of the group and that the group committee also includes two members appointed from among the Council of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.

Given the recent decisions made by Government in relation to the future regulation of pharmacy, anyone elected to the committee may have the opportunity to shape the future of any successor to the committee or the group itself. This will be a period of major change, which will offer opportunities for influencing how academic issues are addressed.

There are six committee member posts up for election in 2007. The period of service is no longer than three years.

All nominations should be marked “APG Election” and addressed to Elizabeth Stanton, Secretary to the Academic Pharmacy Group, at the Society’s headquarters.

The closing date for all nominations is 22 June 2007.

Once the nominations have been received, all full group members will receive a list of candidates, together with voting papers and candidates’ statements of policy. The election process will conclude with the receipt of voting papers no later than noon on Thursday 30 August 2007.

Further information on committee members responsibilities, the group’s constitution and downloadable nomination forms, can be found on the group’s page on the Society’s website.

Any queries relating to the APG should be addressed to Elizabeth Stanton (tel 020 7572 2506; e-mail elizabeth.stanton@rpsgb.org) or Esther Fry (tel 020 7572 2604; e-mail esther.fry@rpsgb.org).
