Disciplinary Committee

The Disciplinary Committee will meet at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, 1 Lambeth High Street, London SE1, at 9.30am, on Monday 20, Tuesday 21, Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 August 2007 to hear the following matters:

1. The new inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against Adegboyega Bolarinwa Claudius Salako (registration number 66018) which alleges that the supply of excessive quantities of glyceryl trinitrate, Didronel PMO and Oramorph oral solution may amount to misconduct.

2. The new inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against Mark Garry Browne (registration number 92589) which alleges that the taking of ampoules of Oxycodone 10mg from patient returns for his own use; the taking of a 30mg ampoule of diamorphine from patient returns for his own use; and the taking of a 300ml bottle of Oramorph solution 10mg/5ml for his own use, may amount to misconduct.

3. The new inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against Sunil Paul Khanna (registration number 75526) and Anil Paul Khanna (registration number 75094) which alleges that,

in relation to Mr S. P. Khanna:

dispensing an additional 210ml methadone mixture sugar free 1mg/1ml to a patient on 1 June 2004 which the patient was not due to have dispensed to him until 8 June 2004

making an entry in the Controlled Drugs register to the effect that 406ml methadone had been supplied to a patient when such supply had not been made

the failure of Mr A. P. Khanna (as joint proprietor) to ensure that all CDs on the premises were being kept in accordance with the requirements of the Misuse of Drugs (Safe Custody) Regulations 1973

and the removal by Mr A. P. Khanna of the methadone register from the pharmacy in breach of the Misuse of Drugs Regulations 2001, may amount to misconduct.

In relation to Mr A. P. Khanna, the Council of the Society alleges that:

making an incorrect entry in the CD register

causing or permitting a prescription to be endorsed to indicate that the patient had been supplied with 180 x Equasym 10mg tablets when only 30 x Equasym tablets had been supplied

the dispensing by Mr S. P. Khanna (as joint proprietor) of an additional 210ml methadone mixture sugar free 1mg/1ml to a patient on 1 June 2004 which the patient was not due to have dispensed to him until 8 June 2004

the making by Mr S. P. Khanna an entry in the CD register to the effect that 406ml methadone had been supplied to a patient when such supply had not been made

a failure to ensure that all CDs on the premises were being kept in accordance with the requirements of the Misuse of Drugs (Safe Custody) Regulations 1973

and the removal of the methadone register from the Pharmacy in breach of the Misuse of Drugs Regulations 2001, may amount to misconduct.
