Disciplinary Committee

The Disciplinary Committee of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society met on Monday 20, Tuesday 21, Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 August 2007 and heard the following inquiries, under Statutory Committee rules (as provided for in the Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians Order 2007):

1. Following an inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against Adegboyega Bolarinwa Claudius Salako (registration number 66018), the committee adjourned to resume the inquiry at a later date.

2. Following an inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against Mark Garry Browne (registration number 92589), the committee directed the removal of Mr Browne’s name from the Register. The committee found proved the Council’s allegation that the taking of ampoules of oxycodone 10mg from patient returns for his own use; the taking of a 30mg ampoule of diamorphine from patient returns for his own use; and the taking of a 300ml bottle of Oramorph solution 10mg/5ml for his own use, amounted to misconduct. Under Section 11 of the Pharmacy Act 1954, the direction to remove Mr Browne’s name from the Register is not to take effect until the expiration of a period of three months from the date on which notice of removal was given or in a case where an appeal has been brought against the direction, until the appeal is determined or withdrawn.

3. Following an inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against Sunil Paul Khanna (registration number 75526) and Anil Paul Khanna (registration number 75094), the committee adjourned to deliver their determination on 31 August 2007.
