Disciplinary Committee

The Disciplinary Committee will meet at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, 1 Lambeth High Street, London SE1, on Monday 3, Tuesday 4, Wednesday 5, Thursday 6 and Friday 7 March 2008 at 9.30am to hear:

1. The Statutory Committee inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against William Mark Howells (registration number 78354), Barry Maurice (registration number 75728) and Ghislaine Elise Harrold (registration number 67551) which alleges that breaches of the Society’s Code of Ethics and Standards may amount to misconduct. In relation to Mr Brooks, it is also alleged that a dispensing error may amount to misconduct.

2. The Statutory Committee inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against Zainuddin Mohamedbhai (registration number 81292) which alleges that breaches of the Society’s Code of Ethics and Standards may amount to misconduct.


The Disciplinary Committee of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain met on Monday 18, Tuesday 19, Wednesday 20, Thursday 21 and Friday 22 February 2008 and made the following directions:

1. The committee made a finding that the fitness to practise of Samuel Edwin Ashby (registration number R6879) is impaired. The committee directed that, in accordance with article 52(3)(b) of the Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians Order 2007 (“the Order”), Mr Ashby’s name should be removed from the Register of Pharmacists. The committee further decided that, in accordance with article 58(1)(b) of the Order, Mr Ashby’s registration be suspended forthwith, pending the coming into force of the direction to remove his name from the Register.

2. The committee adjourned the inquiry into Jayant Bhaichand Sanghvi (registration number 69303) to Friday 7 March 2008.

3. The committee made a finding that the fitness to practise of Paramjit Sheila Mander (registration number 82865) is impaired. The committee directed that, in accordance with article 52(3)(b) of the Order, Miss Mander’s name should be removed from the Register of Pharmacists.

4. The committee adjourned the inquiry into Ian Elliott (registration number 65343) to Friday 7 March 2008.

5. The committee adjourned the inquiry into Yakub Ismail Patel (registration number 65371) to Friday 7 March 2008.
