DRUG RECALL: Lipitor

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency is recalling (PDF 30K) all remaining stocks of a single batch of Lipitor 20mg tablets (atorvastatin, Pfizer) because of the discovery of counterfeit product with the same batch number as the genuine Pfizer product in the legitimate supply chain.

No other batches are affected. To make arrangements to return stock, contact Pfizer’s customer services department on 01304 646600. Initial analysis by the MHRA indicates that the counterfeit material poses no risk to patients.
