DRUG ALERT: Wyeth Enbrel (etanercept) injection (27 October 2005)

Wyeth Pharmaceuticals has identified a potential fault concerning the cracking of plastic needle cases in packs of Enbrel (etanercept). Needles in current packs should be discarded and an alternative similar subcutaneous needle used for injection. Replacement needles will be available at Wyeth distribution centres.
