DRUG RECALL: Optison suspension for injection (23 November 2005)

Amersham Health AS (part of GE Healthcare) is recalling all batches of Optison (perflutren) suspension for injection. This is due to findings by the US Food and Drug Administration related to a lack of sterility assurance during aseptic manufacture.

Recipients are requested to quarantine any remaining stock and contact GE Healthcare to arrange return and credit.
