SAFETY ALERT: BOC CD and HX oxygen cylinders (2 February 2006)

BOC is undertaking a limited recall of CD and HX size oxygen cylinders with integral valve systems and direct reading pressure gauges because a some have defective gauges that may lead to the cylinders becoming empty. Only cylinders with direct reading gauges that have no scale markings are affected. Cylinders with gauges that have 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 , 1/1 markings and marked “315 bar” at the top of the scale are unaffected.

The affected cylinders have expiry dates from 18 December 2008 to 22 January 2009 and were distributed between 19 December 2005 and 23 January 2006.

Supplies of replacement cylinders will be limited for several weeks and recipients are asked to check their cylinders’ contents gauges daily and before use.
