PRODUCT RECALL: Unistik 3 (14 March 2007)

Owen Mumford has identified a manufacturing fault affecting the following batches of Unistik 3 single-use capillary blood sampling device, distributed between 6 September 2006 and 7 November 2006. The fault can result in failure of the needle to retract fully after firing, leading to the risk of a needlestick injury to users or damage to a patient’s sampling site.

Recipients are asked to quarantine all stock from the affected batches and contact Owen Mumford (tel 01993 812021) to arrange the return and replacement of devices.
