RECALL: Viracept (6 June)

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency together with the European Medicines Agency is recalling all batches of Viracept (nelfinavir mesilate) products irrespective of whether they have been supplied direct by Roche or as parallel distributed products because of toxic contamination of the active ingredient of the product. Pharmacists are asked to try to recover product from anyone who has received it.

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency says that affected product, including part packs, should be quarantined and returned to the original supplier.
