Cough medicines

No smoking resources

The smoking ban that comes into force this summer will increase the number of people suffering from an irritating cough, says Thornton and Ross, manufacturer of Covonia.

Government figures predict that at least 700,000 of Britain’s 12 million smokers will quit smoking as a result of the ban, and research has shown that many smokers are prepared for nicotine cravings but not for the other withdrawal symptoms such as coughs and catarrh.

Patricia MacNair commented: “Like other symptoms, the cough will improve, so quitters should be encouraged to make the most of simple remedies that will help them through this difficult time.”
