Vitamin C

Taking vitamin C regularly does not protect against the common cold, according to new research (The Cochrane Library 2007;issue 3).

A review of 30 trials involving over 11,000 patients found that taking at least 200mg vitamin C daily did not reduce the severity of cold symptoms enough to be clinically useful, but it could be useful for people who take extreme physical exercise.
