Food intoleranceLess than a quarter of the 12 million people who claim to be intolerant to certain foods have been medically diagnosed, a new study shows. Research carried out by the food diagnostic company YorkTest found that 39 per cent of people think it is trendy to be food intolerant, and one in 50 said they only noticed the condition when a friend had similar symptoms. A spokesman for YorkTest commented: “Food intolerances are on the increase but it is worrying to think that many sufferers have never actually been tested or diagnosed.” |
