Innovative service

Will Swain has been awarded the Young Pharmacist Award at the National Pharmacy Business Awards 2007.

Mr Swain, a pharmacist working for Weldricks Pharmacy in Doncaster, has developed several enhanced services within his branch, including blood pressure monitoring and weight management. In partnership with the local hospital, he runs a crisis intervention scheme to provide medication for acutely ill mental health service users.

Also, his proactive approach to medicines use review has been utilised to help several other pharmacists set up their own service.
