New tomorrow by Pamela Mason, Editor

A new academic year has just begun and with it comes the third issue of Tomorrow's Pharmacist, written specifically for pharmacy undergraduate students and preregistration trainees. This publication aims to bring you, tomorrow's pharmacists, easy to read, up to date practical information on a range of topics written by respected authors. But don't take our word. Read it and see for yourself.

This issue is packed with practical guidance and helpful tips, articles by students, as well as book reviews. But remember this publication is meant for you, so if there is something you would like to see included in future issues, please feel free to contact us. We would also like to hear from you if you would like to submit an article for publication. Anything you would like to tell us, we want to hear about.

I don't know about you, but I find the huge amount of information thrown at me every day extremely daunting. Just keeping up with e-mails can be almost a full-time job some days. And with so many of us in information overload, the article on information management is very timely. Learn to manage information now, because it's a skill that will save you hours of time in the future. At the same time, the article on pharmacy sites on the web should get you started on accessing information relevant to your profession.

And don't miss the practical guides we've included in this issue. Finance, exams, careers, going for interviews, legal issues related to employment ‚ you can't afford not to be well informed on these issues. And while you will want to start the new academic year on a positive note, student life is not without its problems and we make no apology for including a couple of articles on managing stress and ensuring good health. The main message is don't suffer stress or illness — whatever it is — on your own, and our authors give plenty of tips on where to go for help.

We have our usual variety of articles from students who have completed their preregistration years in community and hospital. And on an international note, we include the experiences of the president and vice-president of the International Pharmaceutical Students' Federation (IPSF) promoting IPSF on a journey from St Petersburg to the Netherlands. I only wish I could have been with them! Most of us love to travel, but personally, I can think of no better way of seeing other countries than working in them. We hope our article on working as a pharmacist overseas will encourage you to think about this and, more importantly, to use your pharmaceutical skills in a context where they are much needed. And last, but by no means least, don't forget the Neema project. Yes, it's now set up and running, but a great of deal of help and input is still needed. So, if you fancy spending some time in Tanzania...

We very much hope you will enjoy this issue. Best wishes and happy reading.
