Welcome to the new look 2007 edition of Tomorrow’s Pharmacist. It is my second year in the editor’s seat and I have tried hard to bring you a new set of interesting and useful articles related to studying and working in pharmacy. It is my hope that you will not just give Tomorrow’s Pharmacist a quick flick through and toss it aside. It is designed to be a handy reference source of career and professional information. It may be especially useful to you in the future if you intend to work or study overseas, if you have an interest in a specialised area or if you want to refer to concise information about various regulatory and governing aspects of the profession. Some of the more stimulating articles this year include “Getting a place at the Games”, which describes how pharmacists worked to support athletes at the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games (p26), “The extramural experience”, in which a student recounts her mandatory research project in Canada (p40) and “Raising fraud awareness in the NHS”, an interesting piece about fraud in the NHS and what is being done to stop it (p44). Then, there is the COMPETITION PAGE (p70)! You simply cannot put this issue down until you have had a go at answering all the questions. E-mail your answers to us for a chance to win PRIZES. Go for it! Gemma Cleveland |
